ABOUT VICTOR RAFAEL OLVERA
A Passionate Composer & Musician
Victor Rafael Olvera earned a doctoral degree in Music Composition and Choral Conducting at the University of Missouri-Kansas City . He earned his masters degree from Brigham Young University where he was the conductor of the "BYU Spanish Choir". He was born in Mexico where he obtained a B.A. in composition at the  National School of Music of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Â
Victor formally served as Academic Coordinator and Professor of "Music Literature and Composition" at the Conservatory of Music of the State of Mexico. A recepient of numerous awards including the "Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz" National Composition Prize in Mexico, and the "Barlow Composer Residency" award. Victor was also founder, director and pianist of the "Anat K'ay Mormon Choir". At the present, Dr. Olvera is teaching in the Recording Arts program at  Johnson County Community College.
